How to add members to a Team.

  1. In your Team, make sure you have the “General” channel selected.

  2. Click on the three dots near your Team name.

  3. In the drop-down menu that appears, select “Manage team”.

  4. In the new menu area, make sure you have selected the “Members” tab.

  5. Select the “Add member” button.

  6. Add a member by searching their name or by using their email.

  7. Once you hit the “Add” button, you will have to option to change that person’s role to either “Member” (default), or Owner (not recommended unless they are also helping manage the Team)

  8. Once done adding Members to your Team, click on “Close” and you’re done! The members have been added.

 

How to remove members from a Team.

  1. In your Team, make sure you have the “General” channel selected.

  2. Click on the three dots near your Team name.

  3. In the drop-down menu that appears, select “Manage team”.

  4. Click on “Members and guests” to expand the list of people in your Team.

  5. Click the “X” for the Member(s) you would like to remove from your Team and you’re done! The user is now removed from the Team.

    Note: If the “X” does not appear, expand your Teams window as it sometimes can be hidden.

How to adjust the role of members in your Team.

  1. In your Team, make sure you have the “General” channel selected.

  3. In the drop-down menu that appears, select “Manage team”.

  4. Before continuing, it’s recommended to read through the Owner/Member/Guest account comparison chart from Microsoft.
  5. Ensure you are on/in the "Members" tab.

  6. Click on “Owners” or “Members and guests” to expand the list of people in your Team.

  7. To promote a user who is a “Member” to “Owner”, find the user from the list and click on “Member” near the down arrow, from there you can select “Owner” in the drop-down menu to change the user’s role.

  8. To demote a user from “Owner” to “Member”, find the user from the “Owners” list and click on “Owner” near the down arrow, from there you can select “Member” in the drop-down menu to change the user’s role.
