Personally if you want to use another cloud storage account go right ahead. But for anything that deal with DWU should be placed in OneDrive. Why?:

Extra Security: OneDrive for Business allows for extra security (including HIPAA) that consumer based cloud storage does not offer.
Collaboration: OneDrive for Business is set up for campus wide, which allows for instant collaboration with anyone within DWU (staff, faculty, or student) since they are already part of the system. OneDrive also allows for collaboration with others outside of DWU as well.
Canvas: You will be able to access your OneDrive files directly within Canvas. So you will not have go looking for your files and bring them into Canvas, you will be able to connect instantly.
